Jody Hope Gibbons

Jody Hope Gibbons is a contemporary New Zealand painter, with works held in many private collections both here and throughout the world, who lives in Matakana surrounded by rolling pastures and a glimpse of the sea.

Her current works explore the materiality of paint – they push the boundaries of traditional painting practice and techniques. She exploits the use of paint, rust, inks, leaf and varnish.

The work is ever-changing and currently becoming bolder, colourful and more gestural, however the recurring reference back to the land and sea is always evident.

Jody will have works in The Gallery, located in the Old Boys’ Pavilion.
