Sam uses colour and scale to illustrate what is topical in his own world. He is interested in taking the viewer on a trip within the art.
Bringing icons, ideas brought from everyday life onto the canvas then placing them within a surreal location underlies Sam’s work. From bottles of wine to bulldogs, birds and people, Sam explores the world with optimism raising unanswerable questions that keep the viewer both satisfied and interested.
