History of the Art House Tour

The Auckland Grammar School Foundation Trust launched the annual Art Expo in 2002. Held in the School’s Great Hall over a weekend, the event featured over 160 artists showcasing their artwork with over 2,000 attendees through its doors. In 2016, the Art Expo became the biennial Art House Tour to help establish a point of difference to the other art shows hosted by other Auckland schools.

2024 marks the fifth biennial Art House Tour which is a one-day ticketed event which will take place on Saturday 23 November. Comprising a tour of six homes in and around the Grammar Zone, the Art House Tour also includes the Gallery situated within the Old Boys’ Pavilion on campus. The Gallery will be open to the public on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 November. Across all six homes and the Gallery, artworks from over 70 local and international artists will be featured.

The art displayed within each of the homes on the Art House Tour has been carefully curated by our committee. All proceeds from the Art House Tour will go towards the Academic Endowment Fund, allowing Auckland Grammar School to recruit, retain and reward the very best teachers for its young men in the classroom. You can read more about the Academic Endowment Fund here.

As part of the Art House Tour, you will also be able to view numerous works by current senior Art students who willingly share their passion, talent and potential with us all as part of the Student Art Exhibition. This will be hosted in the Old Boys’ Pavilion on Wednesday 20 November.
