The Foundation Trust

Established in 2000, the Foundation Trust’s aim is to promote the advancement of education by charitable means through the Academic Endowment Fund.

All funds raised from the 2024 Art House Tour go towards the Academic Endowment Fund, established to allow the School to recruit, reward and retain the best possible teachers for the classroom. It also assists through the provision of physical resources and infrastructure.

Annual awards are given to teachers who demonstrate that they can provide enriching and engaging learning experiences in support of the School’s programme for academic excellence. Teachers are also recognised with awards where they are providing their own time to assist with a wide variety of extracurricular activities.

The Academic Endowment Fund has been built up through the support of Old Boys, current parents and members of the wider Grammar community. We are currently providing extracurricular awards to most teachers and up to an additional 60 awards each year.

Through this generosity, the Foundation Trust has made significant contributions to several capital projects and acknowledge contributions to the extracurricular life of the School. In addition to these outflows, the Trust has an eye to the future by creating a capital fund of over $20 million.

The Foundation Trust has a duty to the wider Grammar community to exercise a superior level of stewardship over this capital base. While adopting a conservative approach, the Trustees are also aware they need to ensure the capital base continues to generate income consistent with the economic environment of the time.

Your support to reach this ambitious target ensures that Auckland Grammar School can continue to hold fast to its tradition of excellence, and can consistently deliver teaching excellence.
