The Anthropocene. The installation also references the panel works of John McCraken, but instead of clarity conciseness and effectiveness, this work looks at properties of opacity, obscurity, and inconclusiveness. Like a polychromatic oil slick, this totem engages with the beauty of our oceans whilst also refernecing through the acrylic material the global warming and ocean acidification from the oily grave of the age of the fishes of the reefs of the Devonian Era.
