Michelle O’Loughlin’s connection with clay began at art school in 1989 and has remained a lifelong passion.
Following a career in fashion design across the UK, Sydney and Hong Kong, she returned to ceramics. Her sculptural practice explores connection, memory, displacement and nostalgia, working primarily in stoneware and porcelain. Recent work includes a series of ceramic Mixtapes, drawing on music, memory and the cultural associations of objects from the past, alongside an ongoing exploration of materiality, form and glaze.
