Living on Wellington’s rugged and beautiful south coast is the major inspiration for landscape printmaker, Kirsty White.
Kirsty’s work artfully weaves Aotearoa’s historic and contemporary narratives of habitation into a modern artwork using pattern, inspired by Maori whakairo, and Pacific Island Tapa. This original take on our beloved landscape gives us more than hills and water, it’s a chance for Kirsty to portray New Zealand’s rich cultural mix, our history and the connections to our whenua.
