Helen Dean
Helen Dean is a British–New Zealand abstract artist.
Colour is a central driver of her work and is often the starting point for her paintings. She builds layered paintings through gestural brushwork and considered forms, exploring the tension between spontaneity and control. Her work is exhibited in New Zealand galleries and shows, and is held in private collections internationally. She also creates artwork for interior designers and private and commercial spaces. She was commissioned to create 10 large-scale paintings for Horizon Hotel, a five-star Auckland hotel. She holds a Fine Art degree specialising in painting and is based in Titirangi, West Auckland.
