Ingrid Boot
Ingrid Boot is an Ōrewa based contemporary artist known for her cinematic, light driven paintings that reimagine mid century leisure culture through a modern, feminine lens.
After training in Fine Art at Westminster University and gaining a degree in Illustration at De Montfort University, she moved to New Zealand in 2000, where she found the calm and clarity that continue to shape her practice.
Her work blends meticulous detail with a strong sense of narrative, creating scenes that feel both nostalgic and vividly present.
In 2025, time spent in Boston, New York and Miami Art Week expanded her international presence and led to her representation by DTR Modern Galleries in the USA.
At the heart of her work are strong, poised women rendered with precision, elegance and emotional depth. Ingrid’s practice continues to evolve through themed series that explore style, identity and timeless moments of escape.
