Lisa Bate
Lisa is a British contemporary glass and mixed media artist, located in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Exploring kiln formed cast glass, her practice focuses on the lost wax casting technique. The slow process involves making master moulds, using wax forms to construct the works which become the crystal glass after the kiln firing. Sculptural works explore repetition of form, using deconstruction and reconstruction methods, alternating between complex and minimal.
