Cascade of Light

Cascade of Light // Mater Terra Series
Oil & Gold Leaf set in walnut stained wooden frame

Mater Terra is a series about the feeling of being in nature rather than how it looks. Through light and shadow, colour and texture, each painting draws on the elements of the earth and our deep connection to them. The hush before rain, a tūī darting overhead, and late light moving across a hill are the kinds of quiet moments that shape this work. Each painting carries a small gold leaf cross, a symbol of spirituality, inner strength and divine guidance, and a reminder of the light that holds us.
