Kaitiakitanga

Kaitiakitanga is the concept of looking after our environment and everything that is in it. Everything is connected and in balance. This piece is a representation of that concept, a guardian for your space. This piece is made from Raku clay and is fired using the Raku process which has connections to Japan since the 1600’s. Because of the low firing technique the item is fragile, not waterproof, so handle with care and clean with a soft damp cloth.
