Conscious Drift

Title: Conscious Drift

Dimensions: 59.4 x 84.1 cm

Year: 2026

The Concept
This piece explores the overwhelming nature of a hyper-fixated, overstimulated mind. It symbolises how your mind is drifting into a vivid detour, entirely locked onto the wrong focus or a cyclical, distracting thought. The central figure appears deeply pensive, almost completely consumed by the vibrant, hypnotic patterns that overlay their reality, mirroring the way internal mental loops can obscure our external world.

Visual Details
The artwork utilizes a stark, high-contrast tri-tone palette of deep brick red, electric cyan, and muted grey tones. A realistic, stylized portrait is juxtaposed against fluid, liquid-like background shapes and bold koru-style spiral overlays. These prominent spirals swirl directly over the face and eyes, acting as a visual anchor for the concept of hypnotic distraction, mental tunnelling, and internal noise.
