Hinemihi sovereign
$230.00
This art piece shows the combination of the Clandon house in England and My Marae, Te Wairoa which originally stood in Te Wairoa Rotorua and was then sold by Maori and my tupuna (ancestors) to the owner of the Clandon house (William Hillier Onslow) in the late 1800’s, which it still stands there to this day. The painting signifies the tragic fire that burnt down England’s beautiful house and also Te Wairoa the Marae that saved my ancestors lifes in the Tarawera eruption in 1886.
